As far as resolution goes you'll be fine up to A2 and amnything bigger would probably be OK too. It really depends on how sharp the images are and what the ISO setting was when you shot them (for the noise levels).
As for post processing, it depends on what sort of surface they're going to be printed on. Personally, I would be tempted to sharpen the images a bit more than I normally would. If you've used layer masks, make sure the edges are clean as once the image is printed out nice and large you're more likely to notice anything slightly off.
Most of the printers have tips on their websites which can be pretty useful. I used YoPhoto for a book which I was impressed with. Loxeley Colour are the pro's favourite but they won't be the cheapest.
