Smile Nikon D7000

Morning Nikon fans,

What are your thoughts on the latest addition, the Nikon D7000?

Details here: Nikon D7000: Official specs, price and release date.

Excited or not?

Very interesting!!Have been holding off from upgrading my d90[,which i really like using by the way] as i was expecting some new models to be released. Will there be a d300s upgrade though just to make the possible decision even harder!!Looks great on paper though. Will be very interested in some proper reviews when they start to be circulated.

It's an interesting camera. Sort of removes the point of the D300s though. I know it's not quite the same spec but it's pretty close and it's significantly higher resolution.

It seems like a decent step up from a D90 as well...

I am considering upgrading from my D60. it was definitely going to be a D90, but now I am confused.....D7000 or D90?

D7000.

Aside from the specifications in the link above, its also got a magnesium alloy body and weather seals too. It totally overshadows the D90.

Angela Nickolson's initial review seems very positive Looking forward to seeing how this handles...

Early owner reports from the States are encouraging although a small number have complained of compromised image sharpness when lens apertures narrower than f5.6 are used. Hopefully Angela's full review will pick up on that if it is a real issue. Otherwise it looks like a very well specified and desirable camera.
