Sorry about your sad news Dan. Take care and hope to see you back soon. Deena, thanks for making a comment about my photo. I really didn't think there was anything positive to say about it. I was foolish to enter it but the numbers were dwindling and it concerned me a little.

My vote went to Matthew who made an everyday, fairly uninteresting subject very very interesting and imaginative. Won my heart the second I saw it.

Ups - Deena's Office Block - lovely composition, angle, idea and abstract photo. Was a veryclose secont to Mathew who got my vote.

Downs - Dave's Old School - this was in my top 3 - loved the sepia conversion and the vignette - applied perfectly. I had a similar idea (an old victorian school beside me) but the weather was appaling and there was NO WAY I was taking S*XY (cough, the name I have given my 60D....lol) out in THAT weather, bless it.

My entry - Only entered to make up the numbers - I took this as a reminder of the hotel as I loved it. Was a snapshot on holiday, not a serious entry and only put in to boost the entries numbers.

Awaiting the new theme so I can get S*XY out and have a proper play.

Great win Deena, i thought it was a great shot and with great composition. Loved it, but I voted elsewhere because there were several great shots.
I'll do Ups and Downs in a bit.

The truth... is nothing more than I was very much under the influence of alcohol at the end of a night on the town and it was taken on my camera phone. Oh, and I did know the people on the train! I thought it had a lovely atmosphere and summed up the evening for me - and it was through a window!! Glad 3 of you liked it :-)

Ups:

Pea24: Steamed Train Window. I liked this shot. The expressions of the passengers gave it a humorous, human feel. I like the fact you converted to B&W as it compliments the shot nicely. Gives it an Alfred Hitchcock olde film look......

TwinnieE: Late night shopping: Another shot I liked, reminded of Christmas Shopping, folks hurrying about, stopping to look into shop windows. I like the fact you chose an old victorian looking shop for this shot, as it's this that gives it that whole Chrimbo feel. When I saw it, I could easeily imagine snow and Victorian people walking in that scene. Nice work.

Downs

Deena: Office Block: Like I said, got my vote early on. I loved the angle and the B&W conversion. I liked the lines and the tones. It wouldn't look out of place hanging on the wall of an Art House.

I reckon everybody done a good job and met the brief. I really enjoyed the theme, so thanks to Reinardina for setting it.

Also thanks to everyone who voted for me, especially after my wee break away. It was a close run poll, but the better shot in my opinion deservedly won..

Very sleepy, you must forgive me any typo's; I check for them of course, but I've been busy editing for hours and my eyes are very tired. As I don't know if I'll have time tomorrow, I'd better do my commenting tonight.

Well done Deena, good shot, nice clear/clean lines.

I was dithering between Pea's and Matthew's shots and in the end went for the train window.

My own shot was more emotional than a masterpiece. I've already been told, I would have had at least one vote, if I had entered another of my 'doors and windows' shots. (I ended up with a whole batch.) But, as I said, after the remembrance serivce I let my heart speak, rather than my brain. Nul points for me, so I won't leave on a high.

Yes boys and girls, I've realised I'm not ready yet to return to the PR competition. I'm getting hopelessly tied up with my other work.

I will pop in on a more or less regular basis to see how everyone is doing, but that is it for the time being.

My up's 'n downs:

Mannananscloak The Poplars

Lovely period window, well captured, fits the brief exactly. Don't really know what else to say about it.

Twinnie's Late night shopping.

Very Dickensian I thought. Christmassy. Good atmosphere.

I'm off, before I fall asleep in front of my laptop!

Good luck to everyone!

Well done deena well taken shot and a worthy winner.
I am doing this tonight as with my history I will forget until it is too late.

Up jimmyosram One minute's Silence

Well taken shot and very sombre I see you got the classic one out of the crowd that
noticed you were taking the picture.

Down Stormsong Number 185

Nice almost abstract shot which fits the theme well done.

Jim.

Dan, wasn't quite with it last night, so forgot to wish you and your girlfriend well. You being there for her, must be a great comfort.

I did mention a shot that would have got at least one vote, maybe more.

Deena and I were, more or less, on the same wavelength, only I tarted mine up and made it into a .... don't really know what. A nice office block with a feminine touch?

This is it:

Lovely tribute to Rememberance Day.
The sailors hat with the poppy and the child being held up so they could see what was going on was a nice touch.

Down
Stained Glass.. by orgi1st

Colourful shot and well composed, but I wanted to see more of the window and the lovely colours Garry.

Thanks for the lovely comment Matthew, that's
exactly the old fashioned look I wanted to achieve.

Dan, sorry to hear about your girlfriends step mum and hope you get through this difficult time and come back soon.
