Congrats Deena on a close win. The votes reflected the entries I think, I was torn between yours and Highlands, but his just pipped it for me. Will do ups & downs later.

Mine wasn't a serious entry, just a snapshot i took in tenerife and entered to make up the numbers. NIL was all it deserved, but I will try for a serious entry this weekend. looking forward to the theme.

Really sorry to hear that Dan,

Congrats on the win Deena, got my vote early on as I loved the "arty" look to it.

Will do ups and downs later, if I'm still awake....absolutely shattered!

Well done Deena on a great win and an excellent shot.

I loved your shot but the originality of Matthews greenhouse got my vote but you were an extremely close second.

Other shots I loved were Pea24 - Steamy Train Window, TwinneE - Late Night Shopping, Semaj - Many windows, Stormsong - Number 185, Deena - Office Block. Oh yes and Pea24 are you going to tell everyone the truth behind your shot (and you still got 3 votes)

My entry got the nil it deserved, I struggled with the theme and the few ideas I did have were not possible to shoot due to weather conditions or lack of subject matter, I did photograph a rubber duck in a microwave but was not happy with that neither was the duck

So ups and downs

DigiDiva - Cleopatra's Palace

Really nice shot, bang on theme felt it was cut a bit short at the bottom and the person in the window was a tad distracting assuming it was a person and not a statue that is. Time to unleash the 60D and blow us away next time

Jimmyosram - one minute's silence

Another nice shot, the B&W conversion works well and captures the silence nicely, just felt for the theme the windows weren't prominent enough. But a really nice atmospheric shot anyway.

As always my just my opinions.

Hoping to do better with the next theme.

That was a nice surprise Thank you to everyone who voted for me this week. It was real nail biting stuff
And thank you to DD, Dan (sorry to hear your sad news), Matthew and Dave for your congrats and nice comments above.

Ups & Downs

highlandscenics's 'The Greenhouse' - this one got my vote, I loved it from the start. Great bw conversion, nice lines/angles, with interest on the inside (hanging plant) and interest on the outside (tree). I also liked the fact that you couldn't see out of the windows. Great shot.

DD's 'Cleopatra's Palace' - Good colours and very unusual windows/doors, fitted the brief and with the added bonus of statues. I may have taken this in portrait orientation to just get more of the staircase in and maybe may have shot it at a different angle, not straight on. I like the person in the window though, it gives the shot perspective. Welcome back DD, hope you had a good holiday

My other favourites this week were TwinnieE's Late Night Shopping and Stormsong's Number 185.

I seriously wasn't a contender. This was taken at a hell of a distance and cropped in to show the statues. I only took it as a snapshot as I liked the hotel and wanted to remember it for a possible stay. As I aid earlier, it was an entry to make up the numbers and I didn't at all expect a vote. There is no way I would have entered this under normal circs. The 60D is ready, charged, waiting.......
