Congratulations Jeff (kerbside), becoming a bit of a habit . Excellent photo and a worthy winner. I loved your creativity. Great use of the cat's eye. This was definitely one of my favourites but I loved pea's 'Jack in the Box' just a fraction more . Again another original idea. I thought the smoke trails were excellent and the editing superb.

In fact I think we can all pat ourselves on the back on this one. , especially to those who didnt have an off camera flash set up. Well done everybody.

kerbside's 'Breathing Fire': see above

Below
Digidiva's 'Smokey Water': I didnt think you were going to make it with an entry this month So well done DD. Loved the idea of using the smoke as water. You captured some fantastic smoke trails, and I like the way you overlapped the two trails. I suppose the only thing that spoiled it for me was the tap. There's a bit of green on the bottom of the tap and the 'cut-out' looked a little rough. But still very impressive.

Thank you to GUY1970 and Paradise Lost for my votes . I was really pleased with the smoke trails that I had captured but had trouble choosing a object to place it with. No originality there I'm afraid

Dave (wavemachine) - please tell me that's not Sooty or is it a meerkat

[QUOTE=deena;68907] Digidiva's 'Smokey Water'[/B]: I didnt think you were going to make it with an entry this month So well done DD. Loved the idea of using the smoke as water. I saw the green after entries were closed..grrrrr....and I agree about the cutout - I have never done any of the stuff I did before, smoke photography, layers like that (only used layers for the colour pop and that was easy). Had no idea how to do it but I think I now know where I went wrong so might try again anyway. I think i should have made the background of the tap photo black too rather than 'cut it out' but I was so stressed out i couldn't even think straight!

Well done on your win jeff, will up and down later. Looking forward to next months theme.

Well done Jeff on a great win, very clever shot indeed the smoke was an excellent capture as well as your vision carried right through to the final image, great PP as well so a well deserved victory.

Deena it is a Meercat, Sooty wouldn't pose for the shot as the subject matter could hurt his career in childrens TV programs apparently it happened with a Blue Peter presenter before

Up DigiDiva - Smokey Water

Lovely idea, great capture of the smoke okay so the tap is a tad rough but a really good effort, until you zoom in it is not that noticable anyway also it is your first attempt at using layers so I think you have done amazingly well. So well done.

Down - Guy1978 - 2 Heads

Another great idea, the smoke was well captured and the PP was very nice to.

I think everyone deserves credit for working so hard on this all the entries were great and so very different, it was an interesting challenge so thanks to Deena for setting the theme.

Thanks to cariadx for my vote.

As for my entry it is rough and untidy around the edges as it was a bit rushed, didn't realise it had to be in on Monday night otherwise I would have spent a bit more time on the PP.

Firstly i would like to thank Deena for setting this task, making me purchase an off camera flash and since purchasing one i now have another.

Anyway, great fun, i now have quite a few pics to process.

Thanks to everyone that voted for me this is much appreciated.

My vote went to pea24.

ups
Chris with his glass.
This was a picture that kept me guessing as to which way the top of the glass was angled. Perhaps it is just me but the smoke looked on the wrong side of the glass rim, optical i expect?
Great colour to the smoke, cut out around the base was not perfect, just did not work for me. Your first posting was however great although off theme.

Downs
Deena, Tempest in a teapot
What can i say, good fun picture, my second choice, smoke colour was great, can't say a lot more about it.

OK, had a long, hard day but here's my up's and down's......

Ups - Deena's 'Tempest In A Teapot - An excellent idea and couldn't fault it. An excellent attempt.

Down's - 'Reputation' - HAHA, an imaginative attemp as, like most of the entries, can't fault it.

I found this the hardest photographic challenge ever and was actually reduced to tears. For me to actually have an entry was, for me, the best photo accomplishment ever photo wise and, with thanks for my vote to Jerry WSL, I felt so proud.

I started the monthly comp as a learning tool and, so far, this has proved a total success.

Long may it continue.

Great shot. This was a very early entry if I remember right and it set the standard. Very cleverly done with the coloured smoke. Very nicely lit dragon as well. Got my vote - although I meant to vote for Breathing Fire (not disappointed by my mistake since it's such a beauty).

Below: Smokeglass
Super idea and tricky to execute - we remember how difficult glass is! Playing with the composition: tilting the glass or not having it dead-centre might have been stronger. I really liked your first entry btw!

Breathing Fire - inspired to spot the potential of those shapes and really well processed. Top job.
Tempest in a Teapot - very clean, crisp professional shot. Excellent
Smokey Water - great smoke. Glad you got there in the end DD.
Me with my Reputation - great shot Dave. Probably not the best idea for you to google "how to roll a joint" at work! ;-)

I really enjoyed this challenge; in fact I reckon the monthly challenge is working well indeed.
