Great win Pea I have to say the original entry was spoilt by the text at the bottom but the new improved version with the tweaked text was a total winner.

There were some really high quality entries this week and all so different which was amazing given how tight the brief was and thanks to Cutter for setting such an interesting and challenging theme.

Other entries I particularly liked were Twinnies, ogri1st and cutters but as I have already said they were all great entries.

Mine I have explained my mishap but maybe my eyes were partly to blame and thank you for the vote 2beers, it is a shame I spoilt it at the PP stage as to catch those coins mid flight and in focus took a huge number of shots. It was a great learning experience and a lot of fun anyway.

Up - kerbside Housing the Homeless

Great idea, great shot and nicely laid out, really liked the font (not standard but very readable) I would have liked a little less blur in at least one of the coins so it was more immediately obvious it was a coin but a great shot.

Down - TwinnieE Do something amazing today

Another great idea, lovely shot, lovely processing loved the reflection, very nearly got my vote but I felt the text was not quite right, I think it needed to stand out a bit more, use a more standard font and maybe a larger point size. I think you will find generally in advertising they tend to stick to standard easy to read fonts. But having said that great work and a great shot.

Looking forward to the next theme and I will try not to embarrass myself this time well not as much

Pea, Congratulations! Another clear victory.

Not many entries this time, but that might have been expected, with the very restrictive brief.
A very low number of votes too, and that I find disappointing. But maybe people found it difficult to choose? After all, there were a lot of similar entries.

My vote went to Dave (Pea) and to be honest, from a poster point of view, I thought the original one was better. The text was more clearly and immediately readable, and that, I think, is important for something that is supposed to attract attention.

I only have to do my 'down' now, as Pea was my 'up,' and the down one is Kerbside's picture.
I cannot find anything wrong with it, apart from the text that was not as clear as it could have been, but much 'nicer' and more srtistic, than a sans serif text would have been.

Got a vague recollection of Stormsong's explanation after the last 'poster' comp, that for things like this, a clear, sans serif font is preferable. Hence my screaming headline in bold colours and sans serif font.

It did not come out well though! Nul points as they say; I think I'd better return to my own journey of - photographic - discovery, and do my own thing for a while longer. Unless Pea mamages to seduce me with something I cannot resist. Still photograophically speaking of course!

I know what you are saying an I also remember Stormsongs post and do recall her talking about standard fonts, I personally think that the creative use of a brick font in the context of the shot worked well but the my eysight is pretty good (with exception to my last entry, but technology didn't help there either LOL) having said that you do raise a valid point especially if you found it difficult to read.

From my point of view (very literally in this case!) there were only three posters immediately and clearly readable: Pea's, yours and mine.

As no one else has the same trouble, the posters were judged on photographic merit, and then you get a different result obviously.

I hadn't actually realised your inititial poster wasn't as you inteded it to be. I thought like ... can't remember who it was ... that it had the washed out look on purpose!

The intended version is indeed a lot clearer and would probably have got you more votes.

Congrats Pea on a great win.

thanks to kezpock, nick_gray, SieSmith, silversnapper1 for there votes, much apreciated.

a very hard week to choose who to vote on.

Ups
TwinnieE Do something amazing today.
This one got my vote I found it a very clean shot, it also reminded me of the junk mail on my doormat most mornings, only crit would have been the size of the font.

down
cutter Give Three pounds Monthly
Was a close contender for my vote, well thought out idea, my only downside on this one was it was to dark .but that said the angle of the lighting gave a feel of atmosphere.

Theese are just my thoughts and hopfuly do not cause offence.

Up - Cutters' "Give Three Pounds Monthly"- 3 quid a month, blo*dy hell, lol, that's a lot! Nice clean image, was my second choice, but a close call. Nicely put together and executed.

Down - WodM's "Every Pennny Counts" - Liked the black and silver, good composition just felt there was a bit too much script which distracted from the coins.

Mine - Nillie - What can I say? Tried my best. Look forward to critique so I can see why it didn't appeal. Have a feeling it was the font colour and style.

Wait for my 1st 60D entry, da, da dahhhhhhhh! Excited, but on holiday so may not 'get one in'
