It was a very steep learning curve for me! I learned all the things I can't do with coins! That's me and my camera, as other people (pea for instsance) did manage it.

But, I did enjoy it, even though hubby wasn't too sure I hadn't gone mad. Had stuff all over the place, following the sun, as my first idea was to 'catch' a cascade of coins against a sunlit wall, in the hope to get a nice shadow pattern as well. Nearly drove me mad. Pulled back from the brink just in time.

And now I really have to go to town!

See you all later.

I'm using Elements. I took a copy of the main text and rastarised it (i.e. converted it to an image rather than text). You do this by right-clicking on the layer and choosing 'simplify layer'. I then used Free Transform, distort and perspective to get the shape I wanted. Then I threw in a heavy dose of guassian blur and dropped the layer transparency to about 30% ensuring it was stacked behind the main text. And that's it. cu.
nice one, not only will i give that a go but i now know what rasterise is lol

No entry from me this week. Sorry guys. I've been ill and had to go to a funeral on Saturday, so wasnt really up to being creative. I'll cast my vote though. And the new theme for the monthly competition will be going up sometime this afternoon. Good luck everybody. There are some brilliant shots this week.

Sorry to hear that Deena. Hope you have recovered a bit, from both illness and funereal sadness.

Just cast my vote. For the first time, I am first, giving Pea a full 100% of the vote!
Well, there's a first time for everything they say, don't they?

Can't decide who to vote for!

Have been to a funeral myself this morning. Sad, was my 93 year old aunt. The same day as the 1st anniversary of my uncle''s death, so a sad day. Nice surpise when I came home though, to cheer me up, my Canon 60D (only ordered yesterday morning, so I was amazed) had arrived!

I'm about to have a good old play with it!
