Smile Facebook

Hi all,

As most of you know by now, PhotoRadar will be changing its name to Digital Camera World in the upcoming weeks.

This also means that we will be losing our PhotoRadar Facebook page (you can't change names on there). So, if you are following us over there, we're asking you to consider liking one, or both, of our new pages.

If it's techniques and great photographers that is your bag, then check out Digital Camera's page:

http://www.facebook.com/Digitalcameraworld

But if it's cameras and new photographic technology, then please take a look at our new TechRadar Cameras page.

http://www.facebook.com/techradarcameras

There stands a chance of there being some cross posting, but it will probably be limited, so please do feel free to like both if you're interested. I will be the main admin on the Cameras page and we will be bringing you news of the latest releases, photographic technology trends, reviews and that kind of thing.

Thanks!

Amy

Yes - PhotoPlus can be found here:

http://www.facebook.com/PhotoPlusMag

And our new mag NPhoto has a page here:

http://www.facebook.com/NPhotomag

And not forgetting Practical Photoshop too:

http://www.facebook.com/practicalphotoshop

I only mentioned Digital Camera as that is the one that will be replacing PhotoRadar when this site is changed over

Let's hope that the great effort that goes into Facebook content is also replicated on the websites

The Facebook content is usually just links back to the website... aside from the occasional question....

Even so, it's far more active in engaging users than the website is. It's a news feed of what's new and interesting on the site.

Am I banging my head against a brick wall? Perhaps I'm the only one that thinks the effort given to Facebook outweighs the effort given to the site. Or that there is very little effort made (aside from your posts Amy) to interact with the forum users and keep things fresh?

Maybe I'm just not seeing the same picture that other people are seeing...

Perhaps we can look at it this way. If so little effort can be done on Facebook and yet the ability engage with readers is better, perhaps that says something about the overall design of this site?

As you know, this site will soon be replaced with Digital Camera World and the Community Manager will be in charge of interaction between the readers on the forum, through social media and so on.

What kind of engagement is it you're looking for?

Well that's exactly what the Community Editor will be for - so make sure you let them know when they join what you want and I'm sure they'll try their best.

It should be easier for them to manage that than it was for Marcus, as the Community Editor position is a smaller role and is directly responsible for community engagement (that must is surely a given from the job title). But it's always helpful for anyone, especially someone starting a new job, to have feedback on what you would like.
