Shin Falls

this is my first attempt at uploading a photo and I would like some feedback on it, I haven't edited it except to lighten it slightly

Hey there - well done for actually being able to show a pic - it's not the easiest of tasks

As for the shot, there's a couple of things I note:

- It's pretty murky looking water. Perhaps black & white might suit it better?
- It's quite low contrast, so the detail in the surrounding rocks and bush is hard to see
- It's quite a close crop, so we don't get much of a sense of the surroundings. Was it a nice sky? Is there some nice foliage either side?

Cheers

Thanks for your reply Matt

The problem with Shin Falls is that its where the river runs through a gorge and the only safe place to take a photograph from is the viewing platform which is up at tree level so you are shooting through the foliage.

It was shot around mid-afternoon which up here is getting pretty gloomy.

Did try it in B/w will try and upload it.

Thanks Alex

Sorry here's the Black and White version (had trouble with getting the url)

I should add that the water is very peaty (makes good whisky)
