Chris, I withdraw everything I said about your entry. I was expecting something really rough, but now that I've seen it ...

Too young, too sweet, too innocent looking and a civil servant to boot .. rough?
You must be too young, too innocent and a civil servant to boot!
(This is not meant derogatory!!!! So don't read it the wrong way!)

Not sure what Dave and Mark will get up to though. If they start a big game hunt, I want to be out of the firing line, or at least hidden behind my dark glasses!

Just come back from a couple of hours shooting autumnal shots, and as it seems very quiet on the forum front, thought to add another post and share my thoughts on roughness.

My first thought had nothing to do with DD's take on 'rough.' I, as so often, immediately went to sea and thought of rough passages and rough seas. Difficult to shoot though, if it's flat calm and you're not exactly on or very near the sea.

DD's vacant floor, brought to mind an unfinished building, all rough edges and raw concrete. I think only Karen (Oliver) would manage to get (official) access there!

And then there is rough terrain ... In all its variations. I like shooting in the local cemetery, which is Victorian, and the ground between the graves is distinctly rough! But difficult to photograph properly.

In short, I'm curious to find out what all of you will come up with!

Not yet Dave. At the moment I'm thoroughly enjoying just shooting what I like, without having to give a thought to any restrictions or briefs. I have an addictive nature, and tend to get tóó engrossed in the competition, which means I don't get round to a lot of other things.

I am keeping an eye though, and who knows, one of these weeks I might suddenly be gripped by the fever again and beat you all, or not of course.

I would miss the contact with the friends though, if I couldn't pop in here regularly. Flickr isn't very conductive to general chit chat.

Of course if you shoot something which happens to be on theme you can always submit it, I know what you are saying though but I try to use the theme to keep my brain and photography active, I know how to operate my camera which of course is not the art.

We have a saying up here 'a bit of rough' which refers to a goood looking guy, looking like he needs a shave, a bit disheveled, has style, a 'bit of a ladies man', sporty....This guy is all of these, a 'little bit of rough' and all the ladies at work agree........haha!
