Epson colour totally out?

My old canon is leaving little ink dots all over my prints so ive taken a epson sx125 printer home from the office. I can not get it to print colours right at all. I don't mean trying to get them perfect with icc and monitor calibration stuff i mean printing simple graphics using windows print wizard and getting anywhere near the right colours. Red is coming out maroon and blues navy etc.. Is this because i have canon drive still installed? Can anyone help?

Hi thefonz

Can't work out why the Epson should be doing this , I've had my problems with Epson printers in the past but nothing like this .
I take it that you have checked to make sure all profiles and print options have been turned to Epson and not Canon , having different printer drivers on the same hard drive shouldn't make any difference at all .

Sorry I can't be of any more help .

I've given up it slow and noisy as can be too, so I'll just buy another Canon. Thanks anyway.

Hi thefonz

If you have gone out and got a new canon then I'm to late but if you haven't then I just had a very similar problem with my epson , it started printing odd colours but a quick head clean and all was well again . Don't know if it's anything to do with using third party inks or it's just that the printer may sit there for weeks without being used but after the head clean it printed spot on again .
