Fair point, I am not sure what I would have bought had the 60D been available when I upgraded, I had the 40D and the 50D was not much of a leap forward in my mind the 7D was the logical upgrade but then I had the debate as to whether to go 5D MK2 or 7D but given the time frame and what I use the camera for I made the right choice. Now my priority is lenses as there is nothing I need the body can't do and I think DD will find whatever she goes for she will hopefully be in the same situation.

I think it will be the 60D to be honest, but when we go to the camera shop, we will see. I think hubby has his eye on Jessop's interest free credit! lol

If better iso performance i'm afraid you invested in the wrong brand. Consider moving to Nikon. There d5100 is smaller and lighter. You will not notice much improvement over the 40d and 60d or any other Canon for that matter. Unless you are going full frame. Even Nikons £400 d3100 performs better than the 60d and even the 7d in low light!

Think it will be the 60d as my numbers never come up. Tiz a ****** about the SD cards i must admit as i have quite a few CF cards and that's what the 7D uses. Wish these manufacturers would stick to one thing or another.
Like DD, Christmas is coming so may get it then.

My birthday comes before christimes (7 Nov) so I may be lucky enough to get it before I go to Tenerife on the 5th Nov! I'm very VERY excited and it is time I upgraded. At least when I go buy it, I will know a little about what he's talking about, as when I bought my 1000D (bless it) I didn't have a CLUE what he was saying re ISO, aperture, FPS etc.

The biggest plus I noticed when I went from a 350D to 40D was the LCD on the top and the seperate control wheel on the back which allows you to quickly change exposure compensation in AV and TV mode and in manual quickly lets you change the shutter speed without having to press another button on the top first. You get that rear control with both the 60D and 7D doesn't sound much but it is so handy.

One nice feature on the 60D is the lock on the shooting mode wheel. In the past I have got my camera out of the bag and knocked it onto a different mode. Its not a big deal but I like it.
