Your critique please

Hey there,

I have a few pictures and I'd like you to tell me your opinion on them because I want to improve my skills (just in case I already have some ).

Thanks in advance.

Daniel

You have made the link to the PAGE with the photo, not the photo itself. On that page, right click the little plus sign at the top right of the photo and copy the link address, that is the link you want to post.

EDIT: happens to everyone. Common complaint. Something is supposed to be coming to fix this.

Nice shots, The second could do with a levels tweak to really Bring out the Detail and Contrast in that sky, the Rest are nice, the blue sky is Nice, and i like the flower macro at the end, Nice Detail

#1 - I reckon you'd have a better shot if you'd shown the statue through the open door

#2 - Personally, I find the shot too 50:50 (might've looked better lying on the ground and angled up for more sky) but I like the balance and the simplicity - good work on the selective colouring

#3 - Very enjoyable shot - and, again, nice balance

#4 - Focus right where it counts in a shallow DOF - nicely comp'd

Thanks a lot guys.
I'm going to try to bring out more details in the clouds... I just need to find out how exactly to do that in Photoshop.
Yeah, as I was there I just focused my attention on the door so that it would be symmetrical but at home I've noticed that I unfortunately cut off the statue behind... So next time I'll try to compose a similar picture with the focus more an the statue

Welcome aboard.

#2 - I like the shot but not sure what you're saying by emphasising the life-belt box in colour?
#3 - Really like this shot - i'm a big fan of minimal landscapes. I'd clone out that tiny bit of bush on the right though

Great work, keep them coming

Well I'm german and I didn't know how to explain it properly in english I just didn't want the picture to be too boring and symmetric so I left that box red to add some interest.
And that's a good point with the bush on the right hand side... I didn't even notice it I'm going to remove that of course.
