I'm torn now. I love my red bucked shot, but also have an amazing B&W portrait shot. What to do? Will have a think, and make a decision. Thanks goodness I have a few days.

Think I've got something to enter...took some shots whilst baking my christmas cake the other day and thought this might suit the technique.....

Sam, I'm not sure what you have done to get your photo B&W but it has a negative (as in like an x-ray) effect to it.

I opened an adjustment layer and desturated as I have been doing but thought it looked strange myself....any ideas why it looks like that? TBH that's partly why I posted here and not in the entries thread...the other being that I still have time to get something else!

With regards to your colour pop...I like it...and the photo...lol!
The eyes look good with colour but are quite subtle so suit it

hmmm, I wonder what happened toyour photo then? It does look,as I said, like a negative. What I do is open the photo, duplicate the layer, desaturate that layer, then using the erase tool, I remove the B&W layer to expose the colour below. It looks like it's your B&W conversion that'sgone wrong. The picture iea is great.

Just having another go via another way of desaturating and looks more 'normal'. Quite like the first one but perhaps not for this comp as it doesn't strictly fit the brief x

Sam that' smuch, much better. Add a little more contrast between the light's and shades (or drop the exposure a little) and it will be spot on. I feel there's too many highlights at the minute. It will be a great entry.
