Hi Jeff,

Thanks for setting such an interesting competition and for the pointer to the Youtube link.

I've been having a play this morning, but can I ask for clarification? Does the background have to be grey? or can we colourize? See my first attempt below:

Thanks and regards

Nick

Nick, as far as i am aware with this process and i am no expert it is the following.

Selectively remove colour from the image allowing you to turn an image into grayscale, then pull an original colour back into a selected area.

I believe that if the selected area was say a ladies dress that was red & blue for instance it is ok to select that item although it is more than one colour.

If your picture above was greyscale and blue that would be perfect.

Loads of examples here

Hope this helps

Thanks for the clarification, explanation and examples Jeff,

I was following the YouTube example and he applied a sepia colourization, so I thought I'd have a go. I've taken off the green background now:

Regards

Nick

I think thats the idea Nick. I'm off to some sculptures in Consett, County DUrham tonight as I am predicting a wow sunset so maybe I can do something with the shots. Not my original idea but might try it anyway.

Nick, there are different twists on this but that is what I was looking for. Great.
