Canon 5D Mark II Autofocus Speed

Has anyone or knows someone who noticed slow or inaccurate AF using the 5D Mark II. I'm curious because it seems to be somewhat of an issue here in Hawaii. I don't notice any AF issues with my 5D Mark II.

I think it can depend on the lens you have on it. Use the kit 24 - 105mm f/4 and it's not as sure footed as the 24-70 f/2.8 or fast primes. Light levels affect the autofocus system, good light is no problem, but as it falls you'll notice it with slower lenses.

I find it hunts around quite a bit and most of my lenses are F2.8 so much so I usually end up turning AF off but that may be because I prefer it

I understand that the Mark II AF is the same as the mark I AF, i.e. a few years old. A friend who has a Mark I says it is sluggish. I think this camera is not really designed with speed of AF in mind.
