The Bupa Great North CityGames

omg - What a mare today. Went down to photo the Great North City Games at the Newcastle Quayside. The sky was basically white cloud backlit by the sun trying to get through and you couldn't use flash. All the skies are washed out and apart from Psing in a new sky, there's not much I can do I guess.

Anyway, here's a couple.

April Steiner Bennet - Pole Vault

Holly Bleasdale - Pole Vault

... and for those interested, here are the others on my flickr.

A couple of cracking shots and well taken. With the bland sky there isn't much you can do except, make them a bit darker. At least you had some sunlight on the subject.

Hi Paul,

I really like the first photo. The athlete's skin tones and equipment are well exposed and seem really bright against the almost duotone background.

The Sage building in the background balances the dark cloud in the top right corner and also pins the event to a location.

Regards

Nick
