Anyone know what this is.

Not sure this should even be on a macro thread. It was taken with my 100-400L from about 10 feet away. I've never seen one before and I'm sure if I'd had my 100 L macro on it would of been easier to recognize.

had one of these land on me at work the other week. It deposited something on me, from which orifice I do not know but it smelled really bad and lingered, not nice.

Many thanks for the ID. Dont know what he was doing walking down the street. Must of been looking for a tasty tree.

They have wings under the shield/back and can fly, so may have been resting.
