Wink Sigma DP1/DP2 tips and advice....

Just in case there are a few Sigma users hiding, let's put some tips and techniques down.. I know the cameras get some stick and have their faults, not too hot in low light ( works for grainy B&W portraits a treat), not the fastest ( slows you down, make's you think more), awkward interface ( It's not that bad and besides how many photographers do you know who use all the settings and functions on their cameras).. But the image quality, colour and detail are superb, you either love them or hate them... On to some tips..

1) Get yourself a Richard Franiec's custom grip, this really helps with the feel and handling of the Dp1..

2) Visit the website of Carl Rytterfalk, it's a great site, he really love's his Sigma's.. Well worth a good look, lot's of image's and advice..

3) Delkin do a great 2.5" pop-up shade for the LCD..

4) Make sure you try out the three focus settings that are available..

5) Be careful when using ISO 50, it's so easy to blow the highlights, but get it right and the detail is stunning.. Ive found that if I use spot metering and meter from the brightest part of the frame, then add 2 or even 3 stops compensation, this is a good starting point..

Please take the time to add any advice you have gained, many thanks, Lee
