Old Film Cameras

I've been buying a few vintage cameras from Ebay this week, the first started to arrive today...

1. Koroll 24 S half Frame 120 film camera

2. Koroll 24 S half Frame 120 film camera

3. Fujica STX-1 35mm film camera with 50mm f1.9 lens

Photos taken in a light tent on a black acrylic base, 1 flashgun either side

I love vintage cameras, have you used these yet? I began collecting them a few years ago but some won't work at all. My favourite so far is the lubitel I bought, it has a nice lomo quality to it.

Blimey, I thought this thread had disappeared into the ether.

Thanks Karen. I got a bit carried away with the collecting vintage cameras thing and in the space of 3 months managed to get about 140. Among them were a Lubitel and a Holga which I've not yet used.

I'm slowly making my way through them, my favourite so far is Weltaflex Twin lens reflex which I've out 3 120 films through so far.

Just this week I managed to grab a Bronica ETRS system off ebay.

In fact I'm just off out with a Zorki 4 and an old Kodak Box brownie out into the countryside as it's the first bit of sunshine I've had access to for a while.

I send the films off for development and scan the 35mm negs but get the 120 film negs scanned by the processor and returned with a CD of the scans.

The bronica is a great medium format camera, it produces some really nice images. The zorkie is lovely, looks just like a leica! One that does work for me was an ilford sportsman or something like that.

I was looking through some old threads and came across yours! :-)

Took the Zorki out this afternoon and managed half a dozen shots. The rangefinder isn't working so I have to focus using the focus scale and hope it comes out OK.

I'm just awaiting a new lens for the Bronica as the one that came with it isn't firing on all shutter speeds, it's being posted tomorrow.

That's the only thing buying some of these older cameras is they are more likely to have faults. If you want something really different, have a look for a user on ebay called noonpinhole. He sells wonderful handmade wooden pinhole cameras, both large and medium format and panoramic. I bought the large and medium formats. The effects can be stunning.

And why not try getting a paterson tank and developing your own b/w? You only need some chemicals, a lightproof bag and tank :-)

I have a micro (Mycro is the spelling) film camera that was my father's. He got it in Egypt when he was there with the UN in 1956 or 1957. He was an MP, but was given the camera and told to be discreet and take photos of a number of things.

I will get a photo of it. I need an excuse to use the light tent I bought back in October.

Karen, I have all the gear for B&W processing in the loft still, could never part with it. I might get it out again but at the moment I'm using colour film.

As part of my "project" (I am not committed to calling it a 366) I took this today. I need brighter lights for my light tent, I had to supplement with a flashlight (torch for you guys over there).

This was not taken with a macro, I used my 50 mm f/1.8

My husband did some negatives the other day and they had a green tint to them for some reason!
That's a lovely camera, Don!
