Question Nikon AF & AF-S lenses on ebay.... why so cheap??

Hello folks,
This is my first post so be gentle with me....

Ive recently bought a Nikon D90 and while bored and browsing ebay uk, i noticed theres alot of (apparently) genuine Nikon/Nikorr lenses with AF & AF-S in brand new boxed status.

They seem too cheap, i mean a couple of hundred quid cheaper than high street prices...... whats the catch and as im looking for a decent 200 or 300mm zoom, am i likely to be wasting money??

Any advice is welcomed!

Thanks in advance

They are probably from suppliers in Hong Kong or somewhere like that. This means that they may be grey imports and may mean that you will have no guarantee in this country and if a problem occurred you would have to send it back to the vendor for repair. Also, you may well be liable for import tax on the item when it's delivered bumping the cost up considerably.
