Negative Scanners

Anyone using & can recommend a decent quality scanner for 35mm negatives?

Don't use it for negatives but the Epson is pretty good. http://www.epson.co.uk/Home-and-Home...ion-V330-Photo at on £99 it does all you want.

The Nikon Coolscan range get great reviews. I haven't used one, not having any half-decent negs or slides to be bothered with. They might be a bit pricy, but I think you would get most of your money back if you were selling it on again.

They're out of production, I think, and drivers don't go to the most recent Windows versions.

I bought the top-of-the-range Hewlett Packard which would have been great (40 negs in one pass!) if only HP had been able to make it work! They eventually gave up and refunded my money.
So I bought the Epson V200 PHOTO instead at less than half the price. It only does 6 negs per pass, or 4 slides, but the quality is pretty good and the scans are quite fast.

You could use one of these: http://www.aztek.com/premier.html

Need to have won the euro lottery to buy one.

cheers guys, I was thinking more about a specific negative scanner rather than a flatbed scanner that you can shove negatives in.

The Aztek must be really expensive, I couldn't find a price anywhere but noted one company offering to use one to scan for you at $115 per scan!

I did once see the price tag on the Aztek. I can't remember now what it was, but it was pretty frightening.

Good luck with that. Let us know how you get on with it.
Does it do negs & trannies and is it limited to 35mm?
