Canon EFS 17-85mm f4-5.6 Zoom Ring.

Hi All,
Advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, preferably DIY ones.

I have this kit lens 2 years now and am very happy with the results. Now the zoom ring has become so loose that when the lens is pointed downward, the lens zooms out. I have noticed that I am getting unwanted zoom blur in about 30% of shots that I take with it.

If anyone has any ideas how my tighten this up myself, I would really appreciate it.

Mine has done that since I got it in Feb this year. I'd be interested to hear what the score is with this.

I have my lens for two years now and it has always behaved perfectly. Cannot understand why there is a problem with the previous posts of similar vintage. Just hope nothing is about to go wrong with mine, as I have always thought it an excellent lens.
