Chat: Back Lighting Weekend Competition 18th Aug- 20th

Decided to make it another technique " Back Lighting" so as long as the main source of light is coming from behind the subject then it can be anything from landscape to a backlit flower and anything inbetween.

Have fun folks and the usual rules apply.

Not necessarily Paul. You can get a few effects with this.

Seems a tricky one this weekend. Don't understand how you can back light a landscape. Going to have to look for something transparent and hope for sun I guess. Not really into still life stuff, so unless I stumble across something I may miss it this week.

Don't be dispondant Paul. Google backlit photography, some great ideas if u look on images. Catch the right sunrise/sunset, you can backlight al andscape. Catch Tyne priory as the sun sets behind it, will look stunning.

In a landscape, backlighting can be used to give a silhouette effect otherwise it's not properly backlit - that's what i was taught anyway! That's if you want a picture showing vast landscape.
If it's a small landscape like a flower or a small area it can be used for different effects.
