Hi Howard,

Its certainly not a bad picture at all but, it doesn't immediately leap off the screen at me. There's a touch of over exposure in the clouds and not a great deal going on. I think the difficulty with shots like this is that you have very little in the way scenery. You have no rolling hills, mountains or landmarks like bridges, that are your focal point.

To me, scenes like this overwhelmingly rely on the lighting. I'd be interested as to how much more of an impact the exact same scene would make, if you went back there at sunset and got some really warm tones through the sky, with a few reflections on the water.
