Digidiva. Personally, I wouldn't worry about the "subject" too much. It's the practice that counts.

When I first started photography, I used to love doing traffic trails at night. I practiced in town or on the top of a bridge. The view was pretty rubbish but I started learning how to do what I wanted for when I had my subject.

The first real subject came when I went to Paris and took the arc de triomphe with some traffic trails at sunset.

Paris is fantastic to photograph!

However, there is so much there it sometimes seems a bit like a theme park. As well, you have to be careful when using a tripod as you inevitably get a copper come along and tell you off.

But, I've never had that trouble here in Tours. In Fact, last time I asked they said "hell yeah. As long as you don't it in the road, it's fine."

Here's my first attempt. This is an old brooch (about 1.5 cm long) that belonged to my husband's grandmother. I used my 90mm macro lens. I took 9 photos altogether and ran them through Helicon Focus. Not sure about the left hand side background. But I think it looks OK. Is anybody else using Helicon? I'm not sure if I can stack in PS. I only have CS2 and Elements 7.

I've realized one thing, it needs a good clean

Nice one Deena. I really should have a go with something smaller than I did.

I think that stacking with CS came in with CS3. I found a tutorial for CS5 HERE so if it does work on CS2 the principle should be the same.
