2 sec hand held

I have been taking photos hand held using the 2 sec delay option, it gives a 2 second chance to get your photo level and slightly reframe, anyone else tried this?

No, never thought of it. I get it level and frame before I push the shutter button.

Not sure there's a difference between levelling and framing and pressing the shutter release, versus pressing the release then levelling and framing?

There is an argument that the 2 sec delay does steady your shot slightly hand held. The principle being the movement of pushing the button may wobble the camera slightly.

On a tripod that makes more sense, but hand held you can have a little spasm anytime

I use the short delay a lot but not for the levelling/framing thing.... which I find a bit silly TBH. No, the short delay (3 seconds on mine) is great on a tripod because on first press of the shutter button the mirror comes up, leaving enough time for the bounce and any vibration to cease before the shutter opens (like a mirror lock on some cameras).

The first time it happened was as a mistake in not altering the setting from using it on a tripod. Its something that I havent heard mention of anywhere, maybe because its a bit silly as Geoff said. I only use it on handheld landscapes, as Jimmy mentioned the act of pressing the button can alter the shot slightly. Just thought I would pass the idea on, why not give it a try?

Absolutely - no harm in passing on an idea

Whatever floats your boat, as they say
