Thanks matt, Dorset is a bit of a trek form sussex, lol, and jet kit, i have a tripod, but i never do anything like this with long lenses so never needed to buy a monopod as well, Doesnt matter, gotta use the extenders, to get the 400mm rented and posted is over 100, and i cant afford that,

So my 70-200 with a 1.4x ext as there out of stock of the 2x ones, grrrrr, lol, its a combo that ive used before so i now it works good, just gotta get close enough now,

Dan as they using the wall i wouldnt be surprise if your 70-200 2.4 would be enough any cahnce you could pop down there and see from the beach can you get a nice pic zoomed in at the end of the wall?
i would say that the convotor would be best

If the weathers nice im trying to talk the misses out for a nice beach stoll but need to the daughter to work for 6 and pick back up at 10:30 so hopefully have enough time

Yeah not to sure what it will look like, be a great shot, was hoping to get a faily wide shot showing the wall jump, and i really dont see what the huge issue with a monopod is, using my 70-200 ive handheld that down to a 1/50th before, Its an L lens so its Sealed, and its not going to be windy, lol,

But dont think im going anyway now so it doesnt really matter, been told by the 'other half' that im not to attend, Not impressed as the extender turned up today, So theres my plans gone, ohh joys

Can you not pick up a cheap monopod? I can get one here that will go fine for under $20. Mine came with a case for $15. I do not see the need to spend a lot on a monopod like a tripod. As long as it locks securely and does not weigh a ton, it should be good. Unless I am missing something.
