all in all it was a good day the weather was great unlike last year
all photo's were taken with a canon 50d and a 300mm F4 L so some of the closer flying was too close

I'm bummed out 'cos I'm away for the Sunderland Airshow this weekend.

These are really great images, perfectly exposed. Nice one.

Great set, nice & tight on the action, good colours.

Glad you had a bit of blue sky which makes the job a bit easier. Top shots always look good so I particularly like the glider & hunter

The shutter speed for the Lanc looks a bit fast

i kept the shutter speed around 1/800th and F8 apeture
safe settings as i call them unfortunatly anyhting with a prop will get pretty much frozen ( as you allready know ) but i havn't got the steadiest of hands i need around 1/800th at 300mm just to stop camera shake
helicopters just don't look right at all

Tell me about it, I have a bigger problem with the 600mm, are you handheld or monopod?

You really want 1/400 or 1/320 for props & choppers want below 1/125, it is possible but yopu do get quite a few chucked in the bin.
I took 2,000 shots at Duxford mostly on my 600 & binned just over 1,000 as I was trying to get lots of prop blur

all hand held i find monopods awkward to use
i tried lower shutter speeds but like i say my hands are not steady enough
with helicopters i'd say more like 1/50th to get decent rotor blur i think a tripod would be essential
