My macro lens was an ebay buy and its been and still is excellent. I can't always afford full price lenses sadly, soused is an option I have to consider.

The only lens I have that was bought new came with the camera My 50 and 55-250 were both purchased used.

As to paying by credit card, it only gives protection if the amount is over £100.

Ebay is fine for used lenses if you pay with paypal. If it arrives and is scratched or faulty just open a dispute. You will be refunded.

I think must of us look after our glass its costed us a fortune!

Well, I clearly didn't look after mine or I wouldn't have dropped it lol! I am of the impression people buy the camera with the lens as a kit, then sell them seperately.
