Guy in here is great, he'll look at camera for you...don't think he'd charge if he can't fix it either...he has lots of second hand stuff in too....worth a shot!!!

Made a silly bid on a lens on ebay ..a really stupid bid on the same lens I broke...I won the bid and got a lens (claimed as mint condition only used a couple of times) for £37.00!!!!!!!!!!!!) I'm very sceptical but excited!!!!

At £37.00 for a replacement it hardly seems worth spending money on the old lens.

Just had a quick look on ebay for the later image stabilised version of this kit lens here and here.

It may be interesting to see what they go for if you fancied the same lens but with IS.

You got the non-IS version? Jumping to the IS version would be a bit of an upgrade Still, that is a great price.

Broken!

I think we've all been there. Commiserations, but I think you're looking at £40 or so for the likes of Jessops to even get a quote and then you'll discover that the repair cost is more than a new lens. Don't try to fix it on your own unless you know what you're doing.
I suspect it's final home will be your recycling bin.
Have a look at some reputable second hand dealers and invest in a good bit of glass.
