Canon 50 D

Have been looking everywhere on the net in the UK for a Canon 50 D !!! Does anybody know where (1) I can buy one one line from a reputable dealer. (2) Is a decent price and (3) Postage isn't a fortune to Southern Ireland ???????
I know Amazon have them for sale for £760, but when I add it to my basket it comes up at over £800 and when they convert it to euros it says I have to pay about €900, which just doesn't add up. Should I just wait till Warehouse express have them back in stock. ??? Any help please before I drive myself totally insane

Try Ebay there are some good retailers on there, just put canon 50d into the serch bar there is a shop in Swansea advertisind it for £689.95 and £9.95 postage with a 1year warranty.
I just brought a canon 17-85mm EF-S lens from ebay with no problems at all

If you're looking to buy on EBay or the Internet, avoid a company called Simply Electronics.
I ordered a 50D from them... good price, supposedly in stock and available for next day delivery, despatched from their Nottingham warehouse.

3 weeks and many phone calls later (to a Nottingham phone number), I gave up with all their excuses and cancelled the order. Getting a refund from them also gave rise to lots of excuses, and eventually arrived 4 months later. I paid by credit card, and got the transaction suspended in the meantime.

A bit of investigation (which I should have done first) showed a lot of other unhappy customers, and the fact that they were based in Hong Kong, not the UK.

I had a similar experience with this company on their web site I ordered a canon fish-eye never got it, but I did get my money back thanks to Google checkout but wasted a month.
guess the moral is check the company reviews before ordering

Try www.keaphoto.com. They are based in Hong Kong and currently on website the 50D body is€790 plus approx €30 for delivery to ireland.

Shipped via TNT there is no problem - should take a week for delivery.

Have used them before and I am very happy with service.

I got a 50D from Simply Electronics last year - arrived promptly - only thing is when loading the Canon software it asked if I was in Asia or Oceana!! (I lied) Camera is great.

I have purchased a few things from a guy on eBay who trades as Flash Camera and he had a 50D yesterday but is not there now. I think it was about £650. He is British but based in the US and sends stuff to a relative in the UK so there is no problem with import duty etc. If you contact him off eBay he may give you a better price. If you can't find Flash Camera shop do a do to digital lenses and search for 'Scotland' select one of the items and there will be a link to all of his items.

As I said I have had no problem buying from him

I've not used him myself but he is a reputable guy on eBay and he's called Ian Kerso. I know a few people on this forum have both bought from him and reccommended him to others.

His eBay shop is called Flash Camera and he also trades outside of eBay. Don't know if he's got any 50D's in at the moment but it could be worth dropping him an e-mail to ask about shipping.
