Do you reckon this is a wind up?

Sigma 200-500mm f2.8 EX DG HSM

Check the price out.

No, not a wind up. I've seen this lens advertised at this price many a time. Can't imagine that they sell a lot of them though.

It's only 14 grand on jessops...

Anyway, getting f/2.8 through a focal range of 200-500mm requires amazing technology and precision. Just think how much satellite telescope cost and you'll understand why.

To be honest, I think the green colour is more shocking than the price

I have seen one of these in person. They had one at the Henry's Camera show in Toronto one year. They have a bunch of lenses set up to test, this was one of them. It is big, very big. I assume heavy, could not tell as they were all mounted. Guys were using it to zoom in on "booth babe" models at various exhibitors booths at the show Not me, of course.

They have one of these on the Sigma stand every year at Focus. I've seen it around about the £18,000 price.

If you think that's expensive, check out the Canon 1200mm f5.6 - a snip at $90,000

Don't forget the truck to mount it on. No ordinary tripod for that beauty!

Oh hell no.... I'm walking round with that bad boy swinging from my neck, to impress the ladies. Admittedly I'll probably have a hernia and slipped disc by the end of the day but at least I'll look cool for a couple hours... which is the main thing, right??
