Really sorry to hear it Don, it's tough at times like this. Are you just in IT? Or have you had any e-business experience? One of my main clients is a major insurer in Canada...

On the upside, I have only been working on it this afternoon and I have had two recruiters and a CIO of a company contact me about positions. It looks like I will probably get an interview at one (the CIO) and the other looks good as well.

You guys will love this, the one where the CIO called me is with a stock photo company

Sorry to hear about that.

This looks hopeful. Again I can only say: Good Luck!

Sorry to hear that. I work in IT too, and we faced redundancy last year which wasn't nice at all. The same thing happens in the UK games industry as the Government recently cut back grants that games developers could apply for.

In Dundee, there used to be a really big well known developer. But the guys that founded that have since had 2 companies go under as there's no investment anymore.

On a side line, my sister is in Toronto at the moment for her work in the animation industry, which also faces similar hardships.

I know about animation too. Friends of ours are both in it, one as a producer one as post production. She, the producer, is having a hard time finding work here. Toronto used to be huge for animation but not as much now.

The good thing for me is that it does not matter what industry, IT is IT.
