Haze problems

Hi All

Just arrived back from Lake Garda and a number of photo's suffer from what I would call a heat haze, as can be seem below. Can this be rectified?

I could always replace the sky, but I was hoping there may be a technique to correct this as I prefer to keep to the original as much as possible.

Any ideas welcomed

Thanks for looking

Rog

That's one problem we haven't got here at present!

You normally use a UV filter to reduce this. You could use the contrast and brightness to improve the photo.

You could improve this my creating a new levels layer & boost the blacks on the mountains/sky, then delete the part of the new layer over the foreground - or better, create a mask & paint it out.

Thanks

Masks have been mentioned before for another problem. Me thinks I'll have to look more into them.

Thanks again

Topaz Adjust makes a decent job of this. I'd post an example, but [rant] I can't be bothered finding somewhere to post it and then linking to it, especially after having to log in and find my way back here. Anybody listening?[/rant]
