Printer Inks

As title says i am looking for a printer ink that does not fade overtime.
The printer i am using is not professional i know, i have an Epson Photo 890 and a Stylus SX405. Both printers are a few years old but cannot afford to change just yet.
Also if anyone out there reads this and mounts their own pictures can you give me a guide to paper thickness for card mounting.

I got a half decent canon photo printer. To be honest i never bother printing my own. If you like printing black & White there all useless at it unless you buy a top end one with grey inks. It also cost more to print your own using genuine ink and paper than get them printed. I use dsc labs £1.10 for a a3 print. I think you need around 1000 microns thick at a minimum.

Could you post the website up for dsc labs. Is it dscolourlabs.co.uk? Im not sure if this is the correct one. Thanks.

Thanks for tjhe reply. I was thinking of getting a lab to print them but thought that it would cost more that what you have suggested. I will take a look into that. Thanks
