Thumbs up l series

hi i have just invested in a 70-200 f4l is and this is a superb lens the optics are fabulous and if you don,t need the is you can get it under £500, i used a canon 75-300 for 12 years but this lens blows the cheaper lenses away and with the f4 you can carry it around without disslocating your neck, if your budget will stretch its a no brainer best of luck.Beware once you get l series your spoilt for anything else

Wow what a question, I have the 100-400L the 70-200L and they are great lenses but quite heavy.
You really need to decide what you want to cover, Macro, birds wildlife portraite landcape or just one lenses that does a bit of everything, and when you decide save for the best lense, as any make do lense will always make you feel you could have got a better shot.
So some soul searching about what tickles your fancey then come back and ask which lense you should get because there is such a wide choice with lenses and price.

Hope this helps

Ps I read a quote but it was too late, it said: If I knew how much photography was going to cost me In would never have started

It is worth mentioning there is a substantial difference in both size and weight between the 70-200 F2.8L and 70-200 F4L the F4 is quite a bit smaller and half the weight.

I have the Non IS F4L and it is a cracking lens which is excellent value for money I don't find it too much of a burden to carry with me, I would love the F2.8L IS2 though
