Best Place to take motor racing shots: Brands Hatch Druids corner (Inside) you are within touching distance of the car and motorbikes

I always go to castlecombe. It is intimate and you can get right round the circuit to take shots

For getting close to the action, Mallory Park is pretty good.

But if you want to get really close to the action, then you need to go to something like a Car Trial (Used to be called Production Car Trial)

The latter was @ 24mm on my 1DMkIII.

Good places

I live in Scotland, so the nearest venue, for cicuit, racing is Knockhill in Fife. There are several places that you can get good images from the general spectator areas. There are numerous examples on the Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/garrellmillhouse/

I have also attended F1 in Spain, Tuirkey and Abu Dhabi but of course you are restricted to whereever you ticket allows you to go. Its easier to move about on practice days. I think I got some great pictures from the Support Pit Grandstand at Yas Marina Ciurcuit in Abu Dhabi last year and will be going back - it is an amazing place.
