Painted Mary redone

This is a reworked photo of St Mary's Lighthouse. Tone mapped, of course.

The following is the old version.

Call me old fashioned, but I prefer the old version Jimmy. The newer version just looks overdone to my eye.

This is why i post up here - I appreciate all comments, what ever they are.

I was going for the over cooked effect - which will be referred to in future text books as "The HDR Osram Effect" 8-)

Hmmmmmm, unsure... if you could put the sky and non halo iing of the new one with the forground of the older one, might be better, i just prefer the less obvious effects,

So the first one is the new one, and the second is the old?

In which case, I thought the first one looked more dynamic, natural and subtle, and the second flat and over-processed???

I really am liking your style though Jimmy - I'm a bit ambivilous to HDR, particularly when over-done, but I think it works really well on the images you've posted! and I should say, there is definitely a unique style to your pics so far!
