Battery Grip
Would like to ask your expertise guys, is a battery grip helps in speeding up the fps of a camera? Particularly a Canon 5DMkII ?..Thanks...

No its not the same as the old film motor drive it just means you dont have to change battries so often

It also gives you another shutter button which makes taking vertical photos more comfortable as well as another speed dial, you also have AE lock but the main thing is you can run the camera on standard batteries or on one or two of the li-lon batteries or plug in mains power all at extra cost mind.
but on the down side it adds a lot of weight to the camera, the other option is just buy a spare battery, however running it with two li-ion batteries seems to last foe ages.
You have to work out if you really need it.

On some cameras it does increase the frame rate by 2 or 3, but check this out in your manual. As has been pointed it will add weight but it can make the camera easier to hold if you have big hands or lenses.

OB is right, on some cameras it can speed up the FPS but I think that only applies to Nikons. AFAIK it doesn't apply to any current Canon DSLRs.

I like the battery grip on my camera is it gives you more to hold on to. I'm not a fan of small cameras - I always think they'll drop out of my hands.

I partially got my grip to make the camera larger. I have a Canon 450D and it did feel a little small. The extra buttons are handy.

I love the battery grip better for portrate mode extra weight gives me more stability power last for ages and having large hands it gives me better handling
