How do you make a Viking look fierce?

From a visit to a Medieval Fair in Jarrow today.

I'm trying to make what was a normally balanced colour photo of this guy into a mean bad *ss type photo.

This is what I have come up with, but (and I know it's not what you would have do do every day) how do you get a photo of a person to have attitude?

You could have the camera ready - good Apeture for DOF, high shutter speed to freeze the action, short focal length lens for getting in close, then just kick him in the nuts ....

Phil
PS - sorry Jimmy, couldn't resist...

I like Phils comment but maybe a bit late for that.

I would add a grain effect and try and blur the gazebos some more to stop them being so recognisable

You may like to try the "300" look..... I've seen a few around but, of course, can't find them now..... here's a tutorial that gets close..... basically the result would be a 'shiny sepia'.

A bit like this.

I think the dragan effect will work quite well on this image.

Poor sound on the video but it gives you an outline of how to do the effect: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ec8HB3G7QqU
