Nice and tranquil which is what I geuss you were aiming at. The big dark area to the left needs lightened though.

Great shot, Matt! Wouldn't it have been lovely to have had a few clouds around in the sky when you took this, but I guess you can't order them in advance as your shot goes to prove. Such a shame!

What time of day did you take this, Matt?

Thanks guys. It was around 3pm, and you'rr right, a few clouds would have been nice to add some interest to the sky.

The left side was under exposing quite a bit, but I kind of like the contrast of light and dark sides...

Verrry nice! I am going to be really, really, really pedantic here though, and say that there is a millimetre that needs to come off the top - those two little lone leaves left and right just off centre at the top are bugging me!
But then, it's not my photo. Just my opinion!

Regards,
Denise

Matt, you spotted a great opportunity. For me, one of the hardest aspects of good photography is being able to recognise how well a scene will capture as an exposed image.

The natural framing of the trees, not just in the foreground but also the reflection of the trees extending down each side of the lake really draw you into the shot. This has created an avenue of clear unblemished relected sky in the water at the centre of the image that gives a lovely symmetry.

I've come over all Brian Sewell if you'll pardon the expression.

Very nice Matt - two questions.

Were you shooting from a boat?
What font do you use for your framing?

Cheers

I too like the contrast of the light and dark sides. I also think some clouds would have ade a great shot a perfect shot. Well done Matt.
