Hi Matt, I absolutely adore rabbits and I wish you had gotten a closer shot. It looks lke it was a very sunny day and to me it looks a tad overexposed. But well took, they are very timid animals and not easy to photograph in the wild.

HAHA you did wqell to get what you got, as I know a bit about Rabbits and you were so lucky to take this. Sorry Im not very goo at crritique as Im still unsure if what Im saying is right.

Matt,

this one doesn't really work for me. Overall the rabbit is too small in the frame & there is too much clutter to be drawn direct to the animal. I find the log behind it being roughly the same colour & tonal quality almost camouflages it.

The lighting is too harsh & stark & creates areas of high contrast giving patches of very dark which distract the eye - for instance the 3 dark patches along the very bottom 1/5th of the shot & the thin branch intruding into the photo on the left.

I'm kind of wanting a balanced, calm environmental portrait type shot but am getting a harshy, jaggy shot, if that makes sense.

I get ya. No worries, it was a difficult shot and unforgiving composition given how skittish the rabbits were. I might try and get lower down next time, so there's less background clutter. Thanks for the thoughts
