Out of Place

This mage was part of a series I did for my photography diploma called out of place. It was my fave of the bunch, I think the idea becomes obvious on seeing the image

A nice concept, but for me to much space on the left side of the photo is making the TV almost dead centre to the image. (Unless you're making a statement that television is to much the centre of our lives, in which case you've enforced it....?)

Have you tried cropping just to the picture left of the rocks in the distance? I think you'd still end up with the same statement but without the wasteland (and in this case it would be implied - everywhere we go there is a television....)

I'd also do something to darken the grass at the very bottom of the picture - the contrast between the two tones is distracting - you could actually get away with cropping most of it out and then just darken that section with the aid of a few masks. If it's actually meant to be light eminating from the TV that has 'lit up' the grass, then perhaps if it angled more to the picture left it would look a bit more realistic.

Thanks for the suggestions..I see what you mean about the crop, it was just a gut feeling at the time that the composition worked really. Also I wasn't/am not too up on res ans resizing after a crop, and so didn't want to lose too much detail as this was part of a final project.

The idea was that the TV was lighting up the grass, I admit my angles my not be spot on!

I'd love to say i conscientiously made the statement that TV is the centre of our lves, but in reality this purely a random idea..I still like it though!
