Student Visa & Selling Photos in the UK
I'm not entirely sure if this question is appropriate in this section of the forum ( and help me move it to the correct one if not) but I needed to ask about this.
The situation might seem a bit strange at first to ask about but bear with me. As the title of this thread suggests, I am an international student at Manchester Uni and my main priority is towards my studies and finishing them at the moment. I do some photography as a hobby, I like to categorize myself as a serious amateur (I have studio lights, several lenses, a whole bunch of stuff). I go out and shoot every now and then, sometimes I attend events and so just for the fun of it, NEVER took money for any of my shots.I upload the best of what I have on a couple of sites to get feedback and to share what little I have, not to advertise myself to be commissioned by someone to cover an event or so.
I was approached recently by a local art shop who found some of my photos worthwhile, they want to print them and sell them, then give me a percentage of the that.
To clarify, I did not go to them or take any shots for the sake that they agree.
My question is, will this be legal to do under the student visa conditions of not getting into "my own business" as I'm not making business from this and it is not taking the majority of my time (actually hardly any time lately).
If any one can help clarify the issue for I would be highly grateful since this is an incredible chance for me to get some recognition and appreciation for my work.
Thank you.
