Personally, I would use a wider aperture to throw any potential distractions in the background out of focus and stop them from ruining the viewers focus on both the sign and the man resting in front of it.

Great shot! Very clever.

I can see what Ian is saying - the car does intefere with his head a little. Also, have you tried making it b&w and increasing the contrast? It might look good.
