Fire!!!

Hi all, has anyone got any useful tips for shooting fire shows?

I was a little dissapointed with my efforts at a local event on Boscombe beach (near Bournemouth) recently.

In hindsight I think a slowish shutter speed with my aperture wide open and rear curtain sync would have been a good idea.

I used spot metering and focus but the end results were less than I'd hoped for - check out the shots at the end of this album...

Thanks.

I'd be inclined to try a stop or so of under exposure to stop the flames overloading....
