Leaf on log

Here is a shot I took a while ago and only processed it today after looking back through some shots.

What do you think.

I like the simplicity with the leaf and horizontals

Although I don't usually "mess" with the subject I might've been tempted to put the leaf bottom left as it would produce a "base" - up there it's a touch top heavy

Sorry Alf - my own personal opinion, but it doesn't do much for me. Perhaps if the log was desaturated and the vibrance of the leaf increased? Or maybe some vignetting to really focus the attention on the leaf?

Just a few thoughts

I'd have been tempted to convert the shot to black and white and just leave the leaf in colour using a layer mask and soft brush.

Hi Alf,
It seems a bit horizontal to me, what about having the leaf in the original position, but transforming the whole picture through about 40 Degrees and then cropping a square out of it? Looks OK in my head ...
