The Dragons are coming!

We thought we'd do something constructive instead of watching The Wedding, so went to look for Dragonflies. They're about in numbers down south but still not much up this way - but more than made up for with other insects and Newts!

Broad-bodies Chaser - the classic view

Broad-bodies Chaser - a more interesting view

Red on Yellow - Large Red Damselfly

7D, Sigma 105

Thanks, Karen!

Awwww! They are lovely! Honest!
(my goal this summer is to get an in-flight of a backlit Brown Hawker as they have gorgeous bronze wings)

So they don't bite or sting humans?

They're soft as puppies!

Just as long as you're not prey - as per this shot of an Emperor dining off a Four-spotted Chaser taken last year

If you're lucky they'll happily perch on your finger - as per this Skimmer taken 2 years ago with my Sigma SD14

Great images Mark. Interesting to see what a Sigma 105 can achieve in the right hands.
