Cover Disc help

Hi all.

I'm hoping someone can help me with this problem.

I've been collecting the 'Teach Yourself Photoshop' cover discs with Digital Camera.

I'm up to Part 8 (Disc 8) and the disc won't work.

I've had problems with prior discs being a bit slow to get going, but this one doesn't work at all.

It simply does a bit of whirring around inside the laptop, a few clicks...a bit of a wait and then I get the old "Not Responding' drama.

I'm running an Acer Aspire 5740G with Windows 7 (64-bit) and Service Pack 1 is installed.

Is it something simple to fix like updating a viewer/player...or is the disc cactus?

Cheers

Thank you,

Hi Ali.

Already did so a week or so ago. Thanks for that.

However, I'd still like to find out whether there's anything I can check at my end to see if something can be done?

Like I said, other discs have also been a little iffy. Eventually they play. This one's just an extreme example and won't do anything.

Cheers

CoverDisc

I have had same problem with number of discs not working- very disappointing- I have an Aspire 5551.

I did send an email some months ago without a response- And have stopped buying the magazine until it is sorted-

Is it just the cover disc that isn't working or is it with all discs as some programs you may have installed can disable the CD/DVD rom E.G for instance Itunes and norton internet security are 2 that spring to mind.

Its just a simple registry fix to get it back working also its on the Microsoft KB where you can download the fix and run it automatically.

Check device manager to see if there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark at your DVD drive if there is you need to run the fix
